Favourite Feathers...

As I don't own a supersonic zoom lense,  I often find it can be difficult to capture birds.  They get spooked so easily and of course, are so quick!  Anyway - here is a small collection of my favourite feathers that I've managed to photograph.....  Hope you like them as much as I do.

Chester Zoo is a great place to see all kinds of feathers...

Yes, even pigeons like to dance!

You Toucan to me?

Showing of - fluffin' his feathers..

They had their beady eyes on my chips!

I love the angle of this - an early photo from me and probably one of my all time favourites....

Staring us out!

Finding Beauty in the Beasts..... (of the mini variety)

This group of images are heavily influenced by my middle child's super class assembly that I attended this week.  The story they told was of Super Worm who had many problems to solve and was helped out by his beastly friends - butterflies, bees, caterpillars and snails.

Enjoy....

Chester Zoo butterfly house is an amazing place to get close ups...

We went hunting for this fella - he's good and hairy!

My absolute favourite of all my bee shots!

This snail was weeeeeeeny - really wish I'd had something in shot for sizing.

Beautiful beastly eye on this.

Sometime the humidity of the butterfly house can be a problem... Thankfully not here.

This guy was found by Poppi under our garden bench.

Here's my cutie mini beast - super proud after finishing her assembly.

Sugar and spice and all things nice?......... Nope!

We had a BBQ this weekend to jointly celebrate my eldest's birthday and Father's Day.  It meant us moving a bench in the front garden to a more convenient spot...  To the delight of my middle child and youngest this movement revealed a whole snail family!  Here's what happened...

Exploring the bench....

Poppi couldn't resist!

Miles' finger - ready to pounce!

Miles' 'encouraging' hand.... "Come on snaily..."

Miles got the big one.

I had to scold him for being to rough!

Poppi got her 'Miss Click' out to take some close-ups...

Have googley eyes - will Eyebomb!

Ok, so this is all a bit of tongue in cheek fun!  A friend shared the idea with me on Pinterest and it stayed saved up in my grey matter for an age... Until one day I was at home with a poorly little Lilli.  She got very frustrated at not being able to go out very early on in the day, so these first few pics are what we 'Eyebombed' on a rainy afternoon just in our house and the road where we live.

A 'shocked' keyhole. (Lilli took this one - I love the angle it's taken from...)
Our 'excited' garden gate.

A 'shocked' Water drain.

An 'extremely sick' lamppost.  Think this amused our neighbours for the whole evening.

My friend then sent me some pretty pastel shadowed googley eyes with a 'Saw them and thought of you' note - so second helping of Eyeboming took place just the other week....

A 'suspicious' Exterior door to the public toilets in NewBrighton.

A 'friendly' rusty bolt on the tide protection gate in NewBrighton.

A 'goofy' rock pool at the NewBrighton shore.

The Fort Perch Rock 'bloke' needs a shave!

A 'tired' cup of coffee.

A 'confused' cup of coffee.

Toothless - a 5 year old soldier!

So the previously mentioned sister of the drama queen has had a wobbly tooth for about 2 weeks...  She decided on Sunday that enough was enough.  Poppi soldiered on with tugging and twisting.  Wriggling and wrestling.  Until finally, what seemed hours later (was probably only 90 minutes to be fair) the first wobbly tooth was yanked out with a triumphant "I GOT IT!"

Warning - weeny bit of blood in the following images........  But come on, a five year old can take, so man up!

Super proud Mummy - and Mr Click got it all too.
