Elf antics....... Fully loaded: 100% done!

It's all over for another year.  The kids said their goodbyes to Twinkle and Toddy on Christmas Eve, They went back to the North Pole with Santa when he dropped off gifts....

Here is the last half of the festive fun with our house elves!

Yes, we got up to find our breakfast gift wrapped....

Even the milk!

Our elves received some gorgeous aprons in the mail, so they baked goodies :)

It was fun when Twinkle and Toddy hid candycanes for the kids to hunt for...

Tub time for Twinkle and Toddy - in marshmallows no less!

Elf bath water is delicious on a hot chocolate - just sayin' ;)
Leaving a reminder - not too long now....

Hmmmmmm.... Bit cheeky! Ha!

Getting ready to bake again...

Elf chocolate cookies this time!

Trust the boy elf to think this would be amusing! Our tree was covered!

Wooooooohoooooooo - zip wire time.

Some copier silliness - one of my favourites if I'm honest!

Back with breakfast again - this time just mini pack versions....

Yummy!  Elves found in the hot drinks cupboard with hot chocolate stir sticks - thanks!

Bringing one last treat for the kids,,,,

Leaving a note of goodbye for the kids.........

And a letter from Santa to thank us for our hospitality along with Twinkle's uniform for us to dress her in...
he's a Head Elf don't you know...... :)

Festivities with friends.... Truly blessed.

This year was (hopefully) the start of a new tradition with our friends.  We had a brilliant party were the kids could play together.  We could eat, drink and be merry.  Party games, pulling crackers, eating mince pies, drinking prosecco - perfect!

I tried to not let myself be trapped behind Mr Click for too long, but how could I not document all this?

Beautiful, natural moments with our 'chosen family'.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Ok, ok - I went with a cliche title - I know.....  And truth be told it's looked a lot like Christmas in our house since the 1st of December when our tree went up.  But it's become a tradition now that we go to my Mum's flat on a Sunday in mid December and help decorate her tree too.  And it's at that point that I really start to feel Christmassy!  We are all together as a family, we put on a Christmas movie (Elf this year) and we have a lovely bit of lunch together too.  The festivities truly begin.  So this year I documented it for us.

Here you go...  I hope you're feeling just as festive by now too!

Cheer up Lilli - it's CHRISTMAS!  ;)

I've inherited to ocd organisation of the Christmas decs off my Mum!

So they were neatly put away last year and now it looks like a basket of kittens have attacked them.... Obviously!

Miles' turn to put the angel on the tree, this is him practising.  Bless...

I gave away the camera......

And again - what's wrong with me?! Ha!
Arrrrrr, now that's better.  She's cheered up! (And looks kind of crazy!) :D

Remember - Time to relax with the littles......

So this time of year gets really chaotic doesn't it?  Food plans to organise, nativities to watch, carols to sing, gifts to buy, gifts to wrap, family to visit and parties to frequent.  But as much as I love it, I do think it's important to take time out and RELAX....  Yes, the kids are off school, hubby is home, and all round the routines we usually have can be far less rigid.  But that doesn't mean that nothing happens does it?  So when I'm run ragged trying to fit in an extra activity or legging it to the shops because I forgot to buy something I'm going to bring myself back to these images.  To an afternoon spent, just sitting, chatting, taking pictures, slowly nibbling on some tiffin and sipping sweet and soft hot chocolate.  Looking at my family and knowing that even though Christmas can be crazy, it can, and should be a time where we enjoy calm, relaxed moments...... Or at least try!  Good luck if you aim for this too ;)

AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
