Maternity photography... he'll be here before you know it.

I've had the pleasure of hearing that this little one has arrived!  Christmas was a family affair at the Kettle home with baby boy making the end of 2017 as perfect as it could be for Mummy and Daddy.

And it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with Bekki and Adam in the last few weeks before baby Kettle made his appearance.  We were blessed with a lovely, mild morning on a Saturday in November.  Drizzle had threatened and the week leading up had been a wet and dreary one.  But at our arranged session time the skies played nice and we had a wonderful time together in the pretty surroundings of Port Sunlight.

Bekki - you looked absolutely beautiful, and it was so heartwarming to hear how excited you both sounded while talking of how ready you felt for your little guy to be welcomed into the world.  I hope that parenthood is as joyful for you both as it is for me.  I'm certain you will both make outstanding parents.  Baby boy Kettle is one lucky little dude!  Much love.

These images tell your story of an afternoon spent together while it's still just you and Mummy....  Walking together, holding hand.  Playing with Bun - the rabbit who loves to play catch.  Searching for bugs, then sitting quietly dreaming of the little brother or sister who is on their way.

Claire's adventure - Preparation and preservation...

I arrived at Claire's house on a bright morning with our theme for her session set in my mind.  I've been lucky enough to shoot here before.  Twice in fact.   Claire and Chris already have a beautiful little girl, and now they are preparing for the arrival of a bonny baby boy in around 6 weeks time.  

Preparation:  Claire is busy getting ready for baby boy in the comfort of her bedroom, sorting out his first outfits and baby suits to take to hospital.  They are hung at the moment on tiny blue hangers and are the softest of greys and muted blues.  Soon they will be lovingly folded and packed along with all those other essentials needed at the time of birth...

Preservation:  Big sister will be moving out of the nursery shortly.  She has spent almost 2 years in the bright and airy room, painted the calmest of lilacs and adorned with lovely trinkets and family heirlooms.  Claire and Chris want to remember how this room looked for their first born.  It won't be long before it's a shade of blue....

Double Trouble....

Before I even start this properly, I've just got to hand it to all those photographers whose genre is newborns and babies... WOW!  You'd think it would be fairly simple to photograph a little person who doesn't move about too much.  But, think again...  As you know I'm a parent of three young kids so I still thankfully remember what babies are like.  And fortunately again for me, these two beauties are the twins of one of my oldest, closest friends.  So we could capture these natural images while we enjoyed a coffee and a chat too.

So here you go; bonny baby boy and little sweet girl.  Mum wanted some pics to possibly use on Thank You notes, and I just wanted to take photos of scrummy babes - why wouldn't I? :)  So here's what I got on our coffee morning in early December.  Would you believe that in close proximity to all this was another couple of raring-to-go toddlers, hundreds of mega-blocks, a dolls pram, a ball pond (balls not necessarily just contained to the pond!), more dolls, board books, a Christmas tree and 3 other adults gabbing with a brew...
